Larry Buchanan's Biography
Mr. Buchanan had over 24 years of progressive experience at Halliburton in the development and application of state-of-the-art oil and gas well field technology, as well as management of large drilling programs and business development activities.
While at Halliburton he headed the Integrated Solutions Division for both the Western and Eastern United States. Mr. Buchanan has managed operations with an annual capital budget of $74 million and 220 personnel. Mr. Buchanan has extensive technical knowledge surrounding advanced stimulation treatments and the exploitation of non-conventional reservoirs through horizontal drilling and completions.
Mr. Buchanan was the Technical and Commercial Manager for Halliburton in the Eastern United States. He and his team assisted operators in well construction design and the application of technology to enhance the development and exploitation of oil and gas reserves. This method of well specific design technology application has resulted in significant oil and gas production increases, primarily in the Appalachian Basin.
Mr. Buchanan is considered an industry leader in nonconventional reservoir development such as coal bed and tight sands reservoirs. Mr. Buchanan holds a BS in Civil Engineering from Texas A&M University and is a registered Engineer in the State of Texas.
